Cervical cancer is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). As the global authority on HPV, the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS) applauds the initiative of Teal Blue to illuminate beautiful buildings in Japanese cities to draw public attention to the fact that we can make cervical cancer a disease of the past. We have the tools to do this. So let’s continue working toward the cervical cancer elimination goals set by the WHO. Country-by- country, we will succeed！
